The Pilot Kakuno is a great beginner fountain pen with a smooth and reliable nib that still maintains a spot in many experienced fountain pen users' collections. This version of the Kakuno has a gold-plated nib and five soft pastel colors, named Madoromi after the drowsy state between waking and sleep. The stainless steel nib has a small smiley face that looks up at you when it sits at the correct writing angle. The pen has a comfortable grip section and a hexagon barrel to prevent rolling. It is a dependable pen that is easy to reach for.
